We are extremely pleased to report that Mr. T. Sekar was part of a NASSCOM workshop on Software Quality where he presented a talk to the faculty at VIT on the topic "Overview: SDLC models/methodologies". The workshop was held on the 29th of Feb 2008 and the 1st of March. He covered the various Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) methodologies and also detailed their usage and application scenarios in the present industry context.
Alongside Sekar, there were speakers from other IT majors like Accenture, Virtusa, Cognizant, Polaris, Infosys and Wipro Technologies.
The Objective of the Forum:
The Faculty Development Workshop on Software Quality was jointly organized by NASSCOM and VIT University. The NASSCOM Industry-Academia Task Force of the Chennai Q Group endeavored to fulfill the gap between the Software Quality concepts and Maturity levels of Professionals in industry vis-à-vis what is taught and imbibed in Colleges and Universities across India. As part of this Software Quality Workshop, the Task Force conducted a series of sessions in various aspects of Software Quality Management. As per their expectation, these gave an overview of the Software Quality Scenario in the Indian and, where relevant, global scenario and bridge the Industry-Academia gap in this space in an incremental manner.
